About

Twelfth Night

by William Shakespeare:

Washed ashore on the not-so remote island of Illyria, our heroine Viola adopts a new identity, Cesario, to survive whilst anguishing over her assumed-to-be sea-lost twin brother, Sebastien. After meeting the land’s Duke Orsino, who hires this newcomer as his page to help hitch the grief-stricken heart of Lady Olivia to the Duke’s, Viola- or rather- Cesario unwittingly anchors this noble lady’s heart to Cesario’s tender one. As this page is further tested by the kingdom's inhabitants, the love triangle is further warped by a fresh suitor to Olivia, Sir Andrew, who’s somewhat favored by Olivia’s debaucherous uncle, Sir Toby. By the play’s end, all either wish to win or pass on the hand of Lady Olivia. A revolving romantic comedy, this tale boasts an uproarious ensemble that also inspires the heart to indulge itself even when it’s breaking.
