INKUBATOR

A New Play Development Program Designer To Support the DFW Playwright Community

The INKUBATOR program was founded to fulfill this mission for crucial members of the theatre ecosystem- playwrights! Our Inkubator is a collaborative space for brand new plays to be developed and refined. Our PMP team partners with a playwright and helps them make their new work the best version of itself through several stages of discussion and feedback and new drafts of the script leading up to a workshopped staged reading for an audience, complete with a professional director and actors.

What Your Play Needs

Our INKUBATOR program is designed to assist playwrights in bringing their vision to life. If your work isn’t finished because you’re getting hung up on something, INKUBATOR is for you.

You may be thinking…

  • Do all the plot points make sense?

  • Is my intended message coming through?

  • How do I make this shorter or longer?

  • What kind of theaters would want to produce my show and how can I make it marketable?

  • I can’t figure out what my show is missing!

We’re here to help!

What We Can Do

Assemble A Team

We provide a director, producers, and performers to work toward producing your work as a staged reading.

Early Feedback

You tell us what goals and questions you have for your play, then our team will discuss with you what they got out of reading it and what suggestions they have, giving you the helpful feedback you need to bring a new and improved draft into the rehearsal process.

Rehearsals

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your work is hear it aloud! The playwright will observe rehearsals, allowing us to tease out any pain points right before your eyes. We also carefully collect filtered constructive comments from the cast that you can use to further revise your script if you wish. New drafts are always welcome!

Performance

We arrange a venue and host a staged reading of your work in front of an audience! You’ll receive audience feedback via a talk-back and a carefully crafted audience survey.

Final Review

At the end of the program, we’ll offer additional insights and feedback so that you can leave feeling prepared to take your work to the next level and start getting it produced by theatre companies!
